THIS IS LATE CE. IT IS INTENDED TO SATISFY EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS FOR 2023 or EARLIER. THIS COURSE WILL NOT GIVE CREDIT FOR 2024.

This course satisfies the state-specific continuing education requirement for Washington DC Licensed Mortgage Loan Originators (MLOs). During this 1 hour course, we will provide an overview of the laws and regulations the DC Mortgage Professional must know and abide by.

The course is divided into three sections:

Section 1:  Overview and Definitions - This section will familiarize the Mortgage Loan Originator with the definitions as they apply to the Home Loan Protection Act.

Section 2:  Prohibited Practices - This section will make the Mortgage Loan Originator familiar with the acts that are prohibited in the practice of mortgage origination's, including unfair steering and charges in bad faith among other prohibitions

Section 3:  Violations, Remedies and Enforcement - When this section is completed the Mortgage Loan Originator will be aware of the liability they have regarding non-compliance with the Home Loan Protection Act. This section will also cover the rule making authority that is applicable under the Home Loan Protection Act.
 

Learning Objectives

Upon successful completion of this course you will have a basic understanding of the Home Loan Protection Act as it pertains to the mortgage industry.  Changes to the law will be covered to update you to ensure compliance with the Act.
